Areas of Practice
Carly maintains a barrister and solicitor practice. She represents and advises clients with regards to complex commercial, transactional and administrative disputes with a particular focus on land use, municipal and environmental law. As a solicitor, Carly provides practical advice on corporate transactions, land development and business law.
Carly has experience in BC Supreme and Provincial Court, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal. As an administrative lawyer, Carly represents clients before the Agricultural Land Commission, Environmental Appeal Board, Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal, Farm Industry Review Board, BC Human Rights Tribunal, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and the Canadian Transportation Agency.
Work History and Education
Carly is an associate at Cox Taylor. She was called to the bar of Ontario in 2016 and the bar of British Columbia in 2023. Carly has a Bachelor of Arts (hons.) from McGill University (2012) and a law degree from the University of Ottawa (2015). Prior to joining Cox Taylor Carly worked as regulatory associate in private practice in Ottawa, Ontario and as a senior legal advisor to the Government of the United Kingdom in London.
Carly is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association. She is a director of the Victoria Bar Association and a coach with the Cowichan Valley Soccer Association and the Duncan Junior Baseball Association.
